Lovers do crazy things

Their love for natural wine and their long-standing connection to this corner of the earth led Larissa and Ulrich Gehrmann to an ambitious project: to produce top-quality wines on the Auggener Liesten, an incredibly steep, prime vineyard site in the Markgräflerland region. Larissa's grandfather worked there daily on the steep slopes, and in 2021 they took over the care of the vines, some of which are up to 90 years old. Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Chasselas are cultivated biodynamically and with a great deal of manual labor. In the cellar, they deliberately avoid unnecessary additives: the wines of the 58° line (the steepness of the Auggener Liesten) are spontaneously fermented, unfiltered, and unsulfured.
