Neot Smadar

Neot Semadar is host to a boutique winery that produces organic wines from local grape varieties. These wines are unique due to the arid desert conditions in which the grapes are cultivated. Our vineyards comprise the southern-most grape cultivation in Israel, and in the entire northern hemisphere. Surprisingly, it is the harsh desert conditions, such as the drastic differences in temperature between day and night, and the salty soil, as well as the natural, organic cultivation of the vineyards, that influence and enhance these exceptional wines. Types of grapes grown here include: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Muscat Canneli.

The wines are made using traditional organic methods combined with an eye for innovation. A number of our original wines have been awarded international medals. They are available for purchase in our winery, in thePundak (Neot Semadar’s roadside restaurant), and in organic stores across Israel.
