Yaacov Oryah

Yaakov Oriya began his winemaking journey in 2004 and has since pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the art of winemaking.

From crafting artisanal wines in a small négociant winery to studying the unique properties of white grape skins across various varieties, and scaling up to produce 700,000 bottles annually in a large, complex system, Oriya's personal style consistently shines through. His wines carry a distinct fingerprint, reflecting his innovative approach and dedication.

The wines proudly bear his name as a personal signature, while the "Whites on Their Skins" series, aptly named Alpha Omega (from A to Z), represents the complete expression of the white grape.

Currently, Yaakov Oriya serves as the head winemaker at Pinto, an exciting new winery in the Negev region. There, he continues to craft wines, including red varieties that embody the unique terroir and character of southern Israel.
