- Coteaux du Lyonnaise is located just west of Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France if not the world. Foodies come from around the globe to taste Lyon’s offerings, and only great wine can pair up with such classic and rich French dishes such as foie gras and Salad Lyonnaise. With such a wide range of classic French food nearby, a wide range of classic wines are necessary. Lyonnaise produces both red and rose wines from Gamay grapes, where most of the red wine is made by carbonic maceration. This results in a fruity and lighter style of wine. A small amount of Aligoté and Chardonnay is also grown and vinified into a full-bodied white wine. The En Premier wine (early release) pairs beautifully with winter dishes such as Coq au vin.
