  • Original certified wines can be produced in the Czech Republic since 2004. This is a method of labeling wines that takes into account certain characteristic features of a given location, the so-called terroir, i.e. labeling according to the place of origin of the grapes.

     

    The civic association VOC PÁLAVA, os, based in Perná, was registered by the Ministry of the Interior on May 26, 2010.

     

    The founding members of the association are VINSELEKT MICHLOVSKÝ as, VINAŘSTVÍ MIKROSVÍN MIKULOV as and Tanzberg Mikulov, as

     

    The decision on the permission to grant the wine designation of original certification "VOC PÁLAVA" issued by the Ministry of Agriculture entered into force on July 13, 2012.

     

    The VOC PÁLAVA designation can only be granted to wines made from the Riesling variety , which is characterized by its unique origin and unrepeatable originality in the Pálava region.

     

    Wines must be produced only from grapes grown in registered vineyards in the area defined by parts of the roads between the municipalities of Perná, Horní Věstonice, Dolní Věstonice, Pavlov, Klentnice, Mikulov and Bavory.
